Women's 2nds Water Polo
Created in 2017, the second year of the women's water polo 2nd team has been a huge success. In the 2018/19 season, with a large proportion of the team never having played before, the women's 2nd team came second in the Western 2A league in the 2018/19 season and won BUCS GOLD in the Conference Cup.
The Women's Water Polo 2nd team is coached by BUCS and Performance Sport Coordinator, Sophie Thomas. Using her many years of playing experience and extensive game knowledge, Sophie coaches with patience and enthusiasm so that players of all abilities, particularly those completely new to the game, can work towards achieving their full potential in the pool.
Training for the women's 2nd team is a mixture of team tactical and skill-based sessions as well as integrated with the other women's teams. Training is designed for players of all abilities, ranging those with previous experience to those who are completely new to the sport! These sessions aim to develop water polo skills and techniques necessary to raise players' standard of play. With many girls playing water polo for the first time, this creates a challenging and rewarding training environment for all members of the team.
